Names and Symbols (K.C.S. Paniker): –
[K.C.S. Paniker (1911-1977 A.D.): He was a painter who tried to explain the picture
and things not seen in his paintings. He made the people of the land acquainted
measuring and spiritual knowledge of his paintings during the mid-1960s. The
the colors he used in his paintings were bright and sunny. Paniker has moved on to using it

Paniker was born in Coimbatore and received his education in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Living in a natural setting, he was influenced by the beautiful colors of the country so, he began

Fine Art Society. He joined the Government School of Arts and Culture in Chennai on time
1936-1940. Since 1941, Paniker has been managing one-man shows in Chennai and Delhi.
He founded the Progressive Painters’ Association (PPA), in Chennai in 1944 and beyond
1954; got the first exposure worldwide when hosting shows in London as well
Paris. Joined as principal of Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai, in
1957. In 1966, he founded Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Chennai, with his own
students and a few fellow artists. In 1976, he received the highest Lalit Kala medal
Academy, The National Art of India.]
